Todd reunited with former Jimmy Kimmel Live producer Jill Leiderman and director Joe DeMaio when he was asked to edit Netflix’s other groundbreaking, first-ever live broadcast, Netflix is a Joke Presents - The Show Before The Show. Hosted by comedian Ronny Chieng, the show aired lived from the Comedy Store on the Sunset strip and featured an iconic panel of comedians and celebrities, including Dana Carvey, Arsenio Hall, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar celebrating Chris Rock’s comedy legacy preceding his Selective Outrage comedy special.
Working under a tight, immoveable deadline, Todd incorporated footage shot just hours before broadcast into a dynamic title sequence filled with custom collage-style transitions. The result was a visually striking opening sequence that set the stage for Netflix’s first foray into live television.
